WATCH: A video review of KLM’s latest World Business Class on Boeing 787-9

Join me on my journey aboard KLM's latest World Business Class product on the Boeing 787-9 aircraft to Amsterdam Schiphol. After a four-hour connection at Salt Lake City airport, I headed straight to the Delta Sky Club, which is a spacious lounge with ample seating, bars, and multiple buffet areas. The lounge features an impressive terrace area that has excellent views of the apron and runway. The Sky Club's bathrooms are very clean and feature high-quality Le Labo products.

Onboarding KLM's latest business class seat, I discovered that it was designed with a 1-2-1 layout, providing excellent privacy for solo travelers and seating couples together in the center. Although it lacks a door, the seat feels private, and the touch screen display can be adjusted into several positions to make it easier to watch while in flatbed mode. The seat console features the main storage area, with an international power outlet and a USB outlet. KLM also provides an amenity kit with all the usual items included.

After being offered a glass of Nicolas Feullatte Brut Reserve champagne, I browsed through the in-flight entertainment. The content selection was OK but far from the best, although the in-flight map was interactive and gave plenty of detail. The in-flight meal service offered three varied options for the main course, with an impressive selection of drinks from alcoholic to soft drinks and hot drinks.
